Summer! Which means the world is on fire in places, water crisis is on our minds in California and places, we don’t want to use the AC but sometimes we have to and more and more music is uploaded that nobody ever hears! Exciting times, these. I’m going with “exciting” rather than “uncertain” because uncertain is certainly tedious, and exciting has a bit of flair.
Yesterday I shared my first Podcats in a while, this one the monumentous PODKITTINS!! episode, celebrating the dawn of a new Berkeley Cat era. My new charges are named Panda and Berkeley, because of course they are. These fine felines will help produce my records, webthingys, podthingys and this mewsletter, and in fact, they are on the desk as I typacghjkl
Yesterday after creating said podcats, I switched gears and worked on a new song, and when it was done, I had the unusual experience of being in an unidentifiable mood. The song was earworming me pleasantly enough, but the emotion it brought was unfamiliar to me - new territory. It was a little uncomfortable, honestly, but then I thought, well, there’s something new in this one, let it be what it is.
Certainly that’s one good reason to make songs, or any kind of art I’m sure. To discover. Look in places and see what’s there. Places within or without.
I’ll release the aforementioned as a single and bleat about it here, I’m sure. Very fortunately for me, these cats don’t seem to mind my caterwauling. I may flatter myself even that they enjoy it.
Election coming up. How bout we each do something today to help increase the “Blue” majority in House and Senate, and keep the crazies out of local and state offices, hmm? Smashing idea!
At some point I’ll write about the wonderful vacation I had with family in June, but I’m still pondering it all, and so for now, here are some pictures to tell the story.
Congrats Charles Stella on your new album, congrats FAVES on the awesome, developing radio story with your new single, congrats Bill Kopp on your fab book tour, thanks for including me, aaaaaaand, Street Party, my album is also available at Down Home Music now, apparently, so have at it if you’re in the vicinity, please.
Stay tooned for my Bond Meets The Godfather 3-song EP, with a massive dub mix from Charles Stella, and artwork from John Seabury(!!) coming soooon.
Those are the things I know. Or some of them. Ta!
