Gardening in the Fabulosity of the Futile Crescent
Great Mysteries of Radio and other Highlights
A packed year it has been. I want to share a big public THANK YOU to those who helped us get Charlotte in the Garden of the New Futility out to a great many college and independent radio stations, and to the fab deejays playing it on your awesome shows. We love youuuuuu!!
What WILL I do today? Wow, I have a little catching up to do! I have a new remaster of Push the Better Button, precipitated by my good friend Little Roger, which I am excited to upload and foist soon. Possibly today!
There’s a freshly unearthed cassette tape (what’s THAT, granpa?!) of an UpTones show from 1986 (!!!) which we plan to “bootleg,” if you will, and make that available to the people and cats. Early 2024 if all goes swimmingly.
FAVES have been cooking up a new original single called Side Effects even whilst their Higher and Higher cover sailed to the tippy-top of some of the aforementioned radio indie rock charts! Tip o’ the hat to ALL in that marvelous chain of events. <3
Nonuffya Bizznis’s’s’s second single on BCR, the profound and timely Nostalgianon is rockin the Interwebs as of Thursday! WHY did we release a record on a Thursday, when everyone else releases their records?! Hmmm, I think it may have to do with the subject matter. Or it may have simply been random chance. In any case! It is now easily findable, in the find-o-nets.
Piero Amadeo Infante’s timeless masterpiece Safe To Cry Now continues to get some of the most heartfelt warm feedback I’ve witnessed regarding any release on BCR to date. It’s a stand-alone, and I know it’ll stand the test of time, as it already has. We eagerly await word on possible follow-ups from this living legend and walking encyclopedia of Bay Area music and culture.
Is that enough?! NOOOOOOO, but it’s all for now!
See ya round the next bend, Love and Happy Caturday,
Eric Din
