After finishing Delete And Report Junk, I felt compelled to procure a red balloon to photograph, and this was easily achieved. Snapped the shot, made the “record cover,” left said balloon to waft in the breeze as a sort of experiment. The helium must slowly escape or lose potency I suppose, for a day later we have Exhibit B, The Demise:
It’s all poetry to me. The red balloon quote in the song (Ba-LON, Ba-LON!) is a sort of in-joke I have with Danny Eisenberg referring to The Red Balloon, the great French short movie from 1965, and whenever something is slipping or floating away or demising or abandoning one, we exclaim, “Ba-LON, Ba-LON!” Now you know our in-jokey secret, which goes back decades, and has served us well.
